Review: Revlon Elegant

It was only after I had uploaded this picture that I realized how awkwardly my hand is posed. Whoops! Compromising hand poses aside, I like the way this polish looks on me. I love a good nude nail polish any day of the week. There is a tad more gray than my photo depicts, but not enough to make my nails look dingy.

So is this the Queen Bee of nude nail polishes? No. My shallow little heart still sings for Essie's Topless and Barefoot, which is more pink and a whole lot easier to apply. I can't quite put my finger on what I dislike about the application of Revlon polishes. I'm not sure if it's the brush, the formula, or a little of both? Out of all the brands I own, I always seem to struggle with getting Revlon's polishes to look just the way I like.

However, the color is fabulous, and is definitely elegant looking. I used two coats, and got about 3 days of wear before my nails started to chip (which is standard for Revlon in my book). On a separate note, I love how Revlon makes affordable versions of 'it colors' made by high end brands like Chanel and Deborah Lippmann. Perplex (dupe of Chanel's Paradoxal) and Facets of Fuchsia (dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance) come to mind.

So what do you think? Are you loving Revlon polishes?

P.S. Perplex and Facets of Fuchsia were both limited edition shades, but they have been brought back into the permanent collection under different names! Perplex is now Naughty, and Facets of Fuchsia is now called Scandalous.
